Fiona Ferro, winner of the Engie Open de Biarritz 2023

Last year, it was Fiona Ferro, a 27-year-old Franco-Belgian player who lifted the ENGIE OPEN 2023 trophy on Sunday June 18.

We remember this sporting day which began with the continuation of the semi-final which had started on Saturday. Fiona managed to overthrow Hungarian Timea Babos 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. Only a few hours of rest before entering the central court of @botennispadel again under a blazing sun. She triumphed in two sets against the Turkish Ipek Oz 7-5, 6-3. Between smiles and champagne, this memorable day once again marked history since she was the first French woman to win the tournament since Pauline Parmentier in 2011.

She is now ranked 144th in the world. It was in 2021 that she reached 39th place, her best ranking.

Will Fiona return to defend her title this year?
